The District serves an area of 45 square miles providing fire and emergency medical services to approximately 13,000 residents. The District includes a 11-mile stretch of heavily traveled Interstate 15, which connects inland San Diego County with Riverside and San Bernardino Counties to the north (map).

Our Mission

It is the mission of the Deer Springs Fire Protection District to protect life, property and the environment in our service area. We shall provide the best fire, rescue, emergency medical, safety education and hazard prevention service possible. Pursuant to upholding the public trust, the foundation of all Board decisions will incorporate integrity, honesty and sound fiscal policy.

Our First Responders

Initial response to all fire, medical and associated emergencies is the responsibility of The Deer Springs Fire Protection District. Our three District fire stations provide full-time staffing for three Advanced Life Support (ALS) fire engines under contract with CAL FIRE and one Advanced Life Support ambulance through a cooperative agreement with Mercy Medical Transportation, Inc. Additionally, the District participates in a cooperative agreement with surrounding fire agencies to provide closest resource response with boundary drops. Our highly trained and dedicated professionals operate under the direction of CAL FIRE Battalion Chief David Morrison who also serves as our District Chief.
